Dinner September 3rd

In keeping with the theme of having themes (refer to previous "letter-C" post) for our meals, and also in order to do something with all the squash we've wound up with lately, we decided to have a squash theme this evening. We still have a lot of squash, so this may well be a recurring theme.

My contribution was "Dual Petit Pan Squash Gratin," made with both white and yellow petit pan squashes, shallots & topped with cheesy parmesan goodness.

Catherine made quite a lot of delicious zucchini bread, which is actually more like cake, in terms of its consistency & flavor (and in this case, shape), but nobody says "zucchini cake," it's always "zucchini bread" for some reason. Mmmm, zucchini bread...
