My New Year's resolution was to read a book a week.
Book #47: The Road (2006) by Cormac McCarthy, finished 12/17. I'm a bit surprised that I never heard of this guy before, since he seems to be pretty popular and widely-read. I loved No Country for Old Men, and so I picked this up...apparently it won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, which makes it the fourth Pulitzer Prize winner I've ever read, and the second this year. What's weird about that is that it's also the second Oprah's Book Club book I've read this year, and the fourth over all. Not as bleak as No Country for Old Men (the movie, not the book, which I haven't yet read), but still pretty bleak.
