2009 Reads, Eighteen through Twenty (18, 19, 20)

Water for Elephants (2006) by Sara Gruen

This was pretty interesting until the last 100 pages or so.

The Mezzanine (1988) by Nicholson Baker

I don't know if you can really call this a novel--it's more like a hundred pages or so of musings about the minutia of life in general. And it's not boring at all.

A Thousand Splendid Suns (2007) by Khaled Hosseini

Sadder and more compelling than The Kite Runner, and will probably be made into an even worse movie.
